Emeritus Status
If licensed foresters or forestry technicians retire from the forestry profession and will
no longer be actively practicing forestry as a profession, they can keep their license
and be registered under Emeritus Status. The licensee is still required to
renew his license annually and pay the required renewal fee, but is not responsible for
taking the required 10 hours of continuous forestry education annually. To apply for
Emeritus Status, the licensee needs to make his request in writing to the Board and
give a brief description why is applying for Emeritus Status. All requests will be
considered at the next board meeting.
