Welcome to the West Virginia Board of Registration for
Foresters
The West Virginia Board of Registration for Foresters has the responsibility of registration of
foresters and forestry technicians and the regulation of the practice of forestry in the state of West
Virginia. The Board was established by the West Virginia Legislature in 1963. There are five
board members, who are licensed professional foresters in this state and have held their license
for at least 10 years preceding appointment. Appointments to the Board are made by the
Governor.
The West Virginia Board of Registration for Foresters will be seeking a complete re-write of the
section of the W. Va. Code dealing with their Board during the 2009 Legislative session. The
